Dania Manor Assisted Living

Meals & Dietary Services

Dania Manor provides 2 nutritious meals daily at noon and 5 pm. Our menu is rotated every month, and we have a registered dietician for consultation and special dietary planning. We also encourage residents to give input into menu planning. See a sample of our menus here.

Nourishments are available throughout the day with the main afternoon tea in the lounge overlooking the grounds. Muffins, tea and coffee are provided every morning between 7 and 10 a.m.

Wellness and Leisure Activities

Our recreation coordinator consults with residents to create meaningful activities. There is a full calendar of in-house events including music and entertainment night, exercise, current events, wellness clinics, community outreach, intergenerational events and personal choice plans (reviewed monthly). Special activities may include bus trips and outings such as casino, shopping, bowling and lunch outing.

Hairdressing

Dania Manor has an on-site hair salon. Fees are available from hairdresser.

Dania Manor employs Team Personal Assistants (Care Aides) and Team Leaders (LPNs) for 24-hour Wellness and Leisure care, including Wireless Pendant Call System for emergency. Our Team’s mandate is to promote a sense of well-being and life satisfaction by assisting with instrumental activities of daily living and to actively participate with you, the resident, in the wellness leisure programs. The Assisted Living Team and the Fraser Health Authority Case Manager along with you, the resident, will create a Personal Support Plan to meet your daily needs. This Personal Support Plan is reviewed quarterly or on an ‘as needed’ basis. The Assisted Living team will also assist you in creating a personal choice plan that is designed to meet your personal preferences and choices in Wellness and Leisure Care.

We are extremely proud to report that this is the second time we have achieved this result, which means that we have held this prestigious result for 8 years. Accreditation is a requirement of BC’s Health Authorities to ensure safe, competent care of elderly citizens in care.

Accreditation provides an independent, third-party assessment using standards built upon best practices used and validated by organizations around the world.

Hours of operation

Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Visiting hours are flexible.

Parking and Transportation

15 visitor parking spots are available. Residents may rent a parking spot. Public transit is available directly outside Dania Manor and the residence is close to shopping, recreation and parks.

You may be eligible if you:

• are currently a Home Health client but are finding that these services are no longer meeting your care needs
• meet the general eligibility requirements for Home Health services
• are living at risk in your current home
• are able to communicate and be understood by others
• do not behave in ways that put the safety of others at risk
• are able to take direction in an emergency
• are able to use an emergency response system

If couples wish to move into an assisted living residence, only one member needs to meet the eligibility requirements for both to move in together.

You can access this service through your Home Health Office, not through the residence. Contact the Home Health Service Line at 1-855-412-2121 (open 7 days a week, 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.) to request an assessment.

Cost

Residents pay 70% of their after-tax income (up to a maximum rate) which covers rent, hospitality services and personal care. Couples pay 70% of their combined after-tax income. Residents receiving provincial disability benefits pay a pre-determined, set rate.
