Letter from Dania Executive Director Lui Franciosi — June 2022

Dear Residents and Families of Dania,

I hope you are all doing well.  I would like to provide you with some updates from our campus of care.

I am pleased to report that we only had one staff case of COVID-19 at Dania Home over the last month.  Residents continue to be COVID-free at this site along with all of Dania Manor residents and staff.  Again, I am thankful to our Leadership Team, Staff and our families for following the expected practices and the advice of Fraser Health and BC Centre of Disease Control in containing and preventing any further transmission.

Our social visitation program continues to also operate well with our screeners and cleaners better able to plan and prepare for the increased number of visitors, especially at Dania Home.  The screeners continue to ask visitors the standard COVID screening questions and for their vaccination status as well as conduct a rapid antigen test upon arrival.  We encourage you to continue monitoring our COVID-19 status at www.dania.bc.ca for any new updates.

Also, I want to alert you that there will be more visitor parking available at Dania starting tomorrow, Wednesday, June 15.  We are introducing permit parking. This is to address the ongoing issues related to visitor, staff and tenant parking on the campus.  The permits are only intended for Dania staff and tenants.  Visitors can continue to park their vehicles in the reserved stalls WITHOUT a parking permit.  However, they will need to record their license plate number with the receptionist at Dania Home and Dania Manor.  From this experience, we will continue to monitor the parking situation on the campus and determine if more stalls will need to be constructed as part of this quality improvement initiative.

Lastly, I would like to invite you to attend our next family council meeting on Monday, June 20, 2022, at 6pm at Dania Home or virtually for those unable to attend in person.  Refreshments will be available to all of you that evening. Please find enclosed the Zoom meeting details below:
